BADLIAR || Sladiver AU

SEE DESCRIPTION FOR THE STORY! This was a pretty big project for me but mostly because I didn't want to half do it and I had to figure out the story I was trying to tell. Luckily, after hours of almost going insane, I was able to finish it. I'm even thinking about writing the story as a fanfic as well. THE STORY Oliver and Slade return from Lian Yu together and try to have a romantic relationship. Oliver has a nightmare about almost loosing Slade on the island. “I need to believe that no matter what happens in our lives, I need to believe that we can come back from that.” Oliver remebers something he told Slade after the island, hoping that no matter what happened to them in Starling City that they could make it through like they always did on the island. Things aren’t perfect. Oliver continues to get into trouble and even gets arrested. As Slade bails him out he remembers Thea telling him to let her know if he needed places to propose. She meant it as a joke but she didn’t know he had a ring. He never proposes, though. Over the next few years Slade leaves Oliver for long periods of times and each time Oliver is heart broken, never knowing if he’s going to come back. One year the roles are switched and Oliver is the one bailing Slade out of jail but in a different town. By now he’s had enough of Slade running out on him. An already rocky relationship becomes delicate as the two begin arguing over Slade leaving constantly. Oliver wants him to tell him where he goes but Slade refuses. Oliver tells him the next time he leaves he never wants to see him again. Over the course of the next few years Oliver tries to get his life together without Slade in it. It’s not easy. Thea later gives Oliver the engagement ring that Slade had left with her before he ran off the last time. Oliver goes on to trying to be mayor of Starling City, finally on his feet and believing he can take it on. Though behind the scenes he’s channeled the skills he learned on Lian Yu to be a vigilante part time. Just as he’s getting his life finally into place Slade shows up out of no where asking for his help. Oliver reminds him that he told him he never wanted to see Slade again. He’s so pissed but he’s actually considering helping him but the fact that Slade somehow knows about Oliver’s vigilante activities doesn’t help things. But it’s Slade and deep down Oliver misses him. So he agrees. Even though Slade doesn’t say it, Oliver knows that Slade wants to work together as if nothing bad ever happen between them and the fighting starts again, making their mission harder. Oliver is reminiscent of their time on the island when things were better and hopes deep down they can make things right. Though as Slade is getting closer to his goal Oliver can see Slade’s plans of leaving him behind again.
