Basic Recruit Training at the Orange County Sheriff's Office is an 8-week course where deputies learn the "Orange County way." During the training, deputies get training in firearms, traffic stops, report writing, Tasers, defensive tactics and more.
Following Basic Recruit Training deputies move on to Field Training, which can last up to 14 weeks.
