In this lecture I have explained the basic structure of a tooth and basic dental terminologies. - The basic structure of the tooth is made up of three layers. The outer most layer is known as enamel. The next layer is the dentine, while inner most soft layer is the pulp. - Enamel is a translucent layer that covers the external of the tooth and provides protection to the tooth. - The next layer is the dentine, which is a soft yellowish layer that provides support to the enamel. - The last, inner most layer is the pulp which forms the core of the tooth. Pulp contains all the nerves, the blood vessels, and formative cells within it. Watch the full video to understand the important points on basic structure of tooth.
