The bass compression settings used in this tutorial are a general guide for compressing bass. Typically you use a higher ratio of compression on sub frequencies to control and get them to sit in the mix. When it comes to setting the ratio for the mid range and upper frequencies, you need to use your ears to gauge the correct balance between control and dynamics.
