Be My Vision

In the days of the writing of the Psalms, there was an oil lamp that would light a few feet around a person. It was just enough to see what was needed for a step or two. That is what following Jesus is like. We know where we are ... we know where we are going, somewhat ... but we often cannot see the rats and spiders and snakes in the room until we are right up on them and have to make decisions to navigate through or around the danger. Most of the time, that is really scary. The flip side is, maybe it is a merciful thing we cannot see all the dangers at the same time. At any rate, we have definitely found through the years that God will (often at what seems like the last minute or too late) will give an answer that shows a door in a brick wall. We often look back with amazement, wondering how on earth we came out on the other side of that battle. Psalm 119: 105: Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
