So DAMOCLISM originally started as me wanting to make something inspired by ZUNTATA (Hirokazu Koshio)'s work on the soundtracks for Space Invaders Infinity Gene, and Groove Coaster (a good example would be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiID9n4GLi4). That was the original intent behind the track, but as I worked on it it sorta became its own thing, with rock elements being added. Still, the drum pattern and bass sections definitely show this origin. Speaking of the drum pattern, it was originally just a lightly edited version of a drum loop from "The Perfect Drug" by Nine Inch Nails lol. When the song got passed off to CV for arrangement and mixing tweaks, he ended up replacing it with something a lot more original, which I think fits better with the final version of the song. In October I posted an audio file of the original version in the Beatblock Discord server, if you're curious to hear how that sounded! From CV35W: heehee funny sword go brrrrr I'm grateful that DPS let me touch up the track, the whole concept of it really caught my eye when they first showed it off! My biggest contributions were really just the strings and some of the audio chops near the second half of the piece. That and audio balancing hell.
