Beautiful Red Copper Complex (Chevreul's salt)

Hi everyone, Today we’re going to make Chevreul's salt, a divalent copper complex. Divalent means it contains two different oxidation levels, in this case Cu +1, and Cu +2. Chevreul’s salt is also a deep, brick red color, and is insoluble in water. Apart from typical safety equiptment, you are going to need a good ventilation system. For our experiment you will need Copper Sulfate, and Sodium Metabisulfide. The two solutions were mixed, heated, and gravity filtered. The salt wasn't weighed, but it was enough to place in a dram vial. I hope you all enjoyed the video, if you did comment down below!
