Beginner’s Guide to Painting

Today we will paint a floral. Five, actually It will be a minimalist composition, with just a few colours and shapes, but hopefully it will provide a foundation for you to continue practicing and build confidence to add more elements if you wish. Once again, I ask you not to simply imitate what I am doing. You should use it only as a guidance for you to create your own composition, using you own shapes and chosing your own colours. For this exercise, we will use paper again to better understand composition. This approach helps us anticipate how the shapes interact and plan the outcome, until we are confident enough to draw directly on paper or canvas.
