The plaintiff was planning on moving into an apartment the defendant had for rent. She couldn’t get electricity because she had an unpaid electric bill from several years prior and the defendant refused to provide electricity. She later decided not to move in, so she’s suing for a return of her security deposit and aggravation. The defendant said the plaintiff tried to put electricity in her ex-husband’s name, and she thought it was fraud.
