It lays out some of his main reasons for Idealism. “Idealism” is the philosophical position that material substance or material objects do not exist. Objects exist; they are just not material. Instead, what exists are perceptions and minds—not matter. What may come as a surprise is that his principle motivation for Idealism is Empiricism. “Empiricism” is the claim that all knowledge is derived from experience.
