God made sure that the Israelites understood that what was taken beyond the gate was known to be cursed and they must be separate from it. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, went to Golgotha outside and beyond the gate to become a curse for His children. This is what we celebrate this Easter and every other day that our Lord gives us.
