Binary and Tertiary are small but mighty forms. The Binary form dominated music in the Baroque, and the Tertiary form was popular in the Romantic period. Both of the small forms helped with the development of the Sonata Form. Examples include: "Greensleeves," the second movement of Hadyn's Symphony No. 94, the "Surprise," Invention No. 8 by JS Bach, and Andante KV 15mm by Mozart.
