Binding Single Pages | Exploring the Crown Book Structure

In this video I explore the Blizzard Book and Crown Book structures after attending a recent workshop. I wanted to understand these bindings more deeply — how they function, what they’re good at, and how they might be useful within my own book arts practice. Working through a series of maquette's, I investigate how the Hedi Kyle's Crown Book structure could be adapted to bind single pages, using a separate fore-edge strip with the folded sections. I then apply this thinking to a final book containing sixteen cat prints, made during earlier relief and chine collé printing sessions. This isn’t a step-by-step tutorial, but a record of my thought process — learning through making, testing ideas, and letting the structure guide the final form.
