Emulsion viscosity
This instrument is used to measure the viscosity of emulsified bitumen. This test is run as per IS 7469 at 25°C for CSS1 and CSS1h emulsions and at 50°C for CRF emulsions. We have a 60mm cup that is put under the instrument. The cup remains there until it becomes stable. We measure the time it takes for the 60mm sample to fill the cup with a chronometer and then report it as emulsion viscosity.
