The solvent distillation test is used for evaluating the quality of solvents. We remove 200cc of the solvent, pour it in a flask, set its primary temperature to 100°C, and let the solvent boil. When the solvent boils, it moves up in the flask and reaches this T junction. When the temperature slowly increases and the first drop comes out, we call this temperature the primary boiling point. As the temperature increases, we remove 20cc of the solvent periodically until it reaches the final boiling point and the solvent is completely vaporized. We call this temperature the FPP point. Whatever remains of the solvent is then removed and measured as waste.
