Here's another fiddle and banjo "happening" from the Junction (in Toronto)
This is a tune we've played forever, originally based on Burnette and Rutherford's version of "Blackberry Blossom" which was recorded in 1930. We've definitely messed around a bit with this one over the years and this is what we ended up with. We hope you like it.
For all you banjo players out there, you might notice that the banjo I'm playing has a weird looking headstock. This was originally a 7 string (!) banjo, that at some point was converted to a 6 string (with an extra bass string). It was made in England about 130 years ago....so, there you go, some banjo factoids.
