Blocking 101: Wet Blocking | Hands Occupied Knitting Tutorial
Blocking is a process used in knitting to help even out stitches. A finished swatch or project is exposed to water and laid out to dry, often using pins or wires to encourage a final shape. In this video, you'll learn how to block using one of the most common blocking methods: wet blocking, also known as immersive blocking. Steam, spray and even dry blocking are also popular approaches, but we'll save those for another video! { And speaking of videos, I tried a non-voiceover approach to this tutorial to mix things up. Love it or hate it, let me know! } --------------------- BLOCKING SUPPLIES: fiber wash knitting project or swatch in need of blocking clean basin or sink tepid (room temperature) water clean, dry towel rust proof pins blocking mats (or a second towel) How to do blocking without specialty supplies tutorial from Heidi: https://www.handsoccupied.com/how-to-block-a-knitting-project/ Blocking in-depth from Interweave magazine: https://www.interweave.com/article/knitting/how-to-block-knitting-tips-resources/ --------------------- Disclosure: Yarn was provided by Knit Picks, a company I am affiliated with as a Brand Ambassador.
