Bobby Hackett was a world renown trumpeter, who also played coronet and guitar. He was a member of both the Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller Orchestras. A favorite of Jackie Gleason, Hackett soloed in a series of wildly successful “mood” albums released by Gleason. Born in Providence, Bobby Hackett loved Rhode Island, returning often to visit family and friends while retiring in his later years on Cape Cod.
