Boorloo Bridge Opening

The new Boorloo Bridge connecting Victoria Park and East Perth via Heirisson Island officially opened on the 22nd of December 2024, replacing the existing narrow pathway on the Causeway and encouraging pedestrian and cyclist travel into the CBD. In this video we take a quick look at the new bridge, Rita Saffioti's short speech, and the celebratory fireworks and light display. I absolutely love this new bridge and I think all the area surrounding it looks really amazing. Another piece of iconic infrastructure for our beautiful city! UPDATE 17 NOVEMBER 2025: Several beams of LED lights somehow fell of this bridge on this day and caused a several day closure while repairs took place.
