Bread making from scratch with Pamela Jackson
Baking Tips... Making bread with Mountain Dew to utilize the carbonation and create fluffy bread. Let the bread rise NO MORE than 1 inch above the top of a standard bread pan. This recipe makes 3 loaves in a standard bread pan. If you use the larger bread pan, make two loaves. distribute the dough evenly between the 3 pans to avoid it rising and over-filling the pan. ... Bake for 10 mins and cover the top of each loaf by gently laying a piece of foil over the tops and let then continue to bake for 15 mins or until the top springs back when you slightly press it with your finger. ... IMMEDIATELY remove the hot loaf from the pan to avoid the bottom getting soggy from cooling in the hot pan. With that in mind, use a cooling rack so the bread can breath underneath as it cools. .... Best tip... butter the tops while hot and then cover the top and partial sides until they cool. This will soften the tops. (You can cut them and serve hot with butter too)
