Breadboard PC runs MS-DOS and Windows 3.0 #27
The twenty seventh in a new a series of videos to create a retro Intel 8088/8086 PC on solderless breadboards and learn about how computer hardware and software works. I'll be using new Intersil 80C88 series chips and modern components where possible. In this video I summarise the series so far ending up with running MS-DOS 3.30, MS-DOS 5.0 and Windows 3.0. Note WinCUPL II Beta is now available. I would use this in preference to WinCUPL and has better documentation https://www.microchip.com/en-us/development-tool/wincupl New Breadboard PC V2 Videos full series Playlist for Breadboard PC V2 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0HI91x0gPoE9sSNmIbq5fcDDc7ziQe3c Sergey Kiselev XI-8088 PC & BIOS https://github.com/skiselev/8088_bios https://github.com/skiselev/xi_8088 New BBPC Version 2 Github https://github.com/breadboardinglabs/Breadboard8088PCV2 Breadboarding Labs Channel https://www.youtube.com/@breadboardinglabs BBPC V1 Playlist https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0HI91x0gPoGUtu3rUd1dSInTlIL2wk2p&si=o-lCULcw_BwrMYYO IBM PC Wire wrap Prototype https://x.com/TubeTimeUS/status/1333231389865517057/photo/1 https://x.com/TubeTimeUS/status/1333231389865517057/photo/2 Breadboarding Tips https://youtu.be/nVtszJ8y_74 Improving Breadboard Power https://youtu.be/LJlSzwSC8sk Breadboarding Introduction Video "Prototyping and Experimenting with Breadboards" https://youtu.be/Y36g0TNkpvk 6809 Project Videos Nanocomp 6809 Introduction Video https://youtu.be/oNCKHvTz3Cg Breadboard VGA in 15 minutes runs Tetris https://youtu.be/tT2X9yMkr_4 Nanocomp 6809 in 10 Minutes https://youtu.be/jTfk6MR-70I Nanocomp 6809 on Hackaday.io https://hackaday.io/project/188095-nanocomp-6809-8-bit-retro-computer-on-breadboards.
