Breadboards are simple devices that are very helpful in prototyping and learning about circuits.They allow us to assemble a circuit without the need to solder or design a PCB. This is very good when we need to quickly check if something works or prototype something. That is why they are also sometimes called protoboards. The main elements of a breadboard are the connection holes and the plus and minus busses on the sides. The connection holes in one row are connected together in groups of five. The holes in the busses are all connected and are usually used to deliver power to the circuit built on the board. Often breadboard strips have male and female dovetail notches so boards can be clipped together to form one larger breadboard.
