Bridlington

Beautiful Bridlington - filmed here on a crisp February morning with the air temperature at 4c. High tide at Bridlington Harbour where the Lobster fishing boats are tied to the fish pier and hardy line fishermen fish Bridlington North Pier. Fishing Bridlington North Pier as high tide approaches. A seagull tries to crack open a shellfish as the Gypsey Race dredger enters Bridlington Harbour. Filmed in 4k 60fps HDR the ship makes a dramatic sight set against a strong wind, which sends a heavy sea swell through the harbour. Bridlington - top holiday resort between Flamborough Head and Fraisthorpe, no holiday resort between these places can match Bridlington with its Grandeur in the main resort strip which stretches between it’s funeral parlour and slot machines which dominate the town in it’s tourist area. Dead on arrival? The funeral parlour. Still alive? Slot machines which seem to operate on an intermittent ratio and interval reinforcement schedule. Remember B F Skinner and his pigeons? So do I and I once won a wood saw in a first game of Bingo at Bridlington (aged 10) only then playing under pressure from great Aunts who themselves seemed to salivate when a whistle blew.. I never played bingo again and can say I came out in front lol That said, the slot machine emporium’s are essentially on bleak cold wet days in Summer at Bridlington and have saved many from freezing to death on typical summer days. Of course this is British sarcasm- humour tho you may not recognise it as such. Yorkshire is a predominantly friendly place where it’s common for total strangers to exchange a few word on passing - typical a few words about the weather I finish the video on the top floor of Boyes Cafe, where you can get a view out over Bridlington South Beach, as the coast curves round to Hornsea and further on to Spurn Point at the entry to the River Humber estuary.
