Broken Dub IDM
Inspired by @intellijel video on Multigrain + Metropolix + Sealegs, here I'm playing with various radio samples on multigrain, sequenced by Metropolix, and a lot more ingredients detailed a bit further. Hope you enjoy the trip as I did. Patch notes: Voice A – Multigrain dub line Intellijel Multigrain loaded with radio snippets and kalimba. Metropolix sequences all 8 tracks (1→8), and I play with ORDER and global probability to move between simple loops and more broken patterns. A Maths LFO hits Multigrain’s X input (mapped to pitch / grain size / start position) so the grains can be stretching, shrinking and shifting. Multigrain audio → Sealegs (clocked ping-pong + reverb). Sealegs Wet/Dry is opened/closed by an envelope from Maths, triggered by Grids Voice B – Granular beat (Plaits → Slice → Blur) Mutable Grids modulated by planar2 sequences Plaits (AUX output) Harlequin’s Context and Multigrain’s A/B outputs modulate Plaits between kick / hat–like hits and timbral variations. Plaits → 2hp Slice modulated by Harlequins context → 2hp Blur, with Blur modulated by Gliss 1U, adding a sandy, glitchy texture without losing the core beat. Voice C – Anchor kick A dry, heavy kick from Shakmat Battering Ram, driven by Steppy: regular hits on 1 and 9, plus a low-probability extra hit on 7 Pam's pro handles clocks, and occasional short enveloppe into plaits' cv input
