Broken iPad
When JJ came home on the bus, I reminded him that Tricia was going to pick him up today. He got very emotional and cried. He loves staying home but Tricia gets him on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It may take a little time but he will eventually slip back into his routine again. The teacher's notes said that JJ had a really good day except for the iPad incident. We tried to talk to him about it but he is unable to communicate to us what happened. That is how it has always been and we will never really know what happened or why he threw his iPad. Shelly and i picked him up at 6:00pm and he was in a great mood until we started talking to him about his routine tomorrow, He started getting elevated because he has lunch at school tomorrow. Wednesdays in the past used to be super early release days with no lunch and he was done at 11:00am and that is what he expects to happen. He now has shortened school days and will get out at 1:00 pm Monday-Friday. You would think that he would be happy with that but he isn't. It is another routine change that will take time for him to get used to. While I was driving, JJ started getting pretty aggressive with me so I needed to pull over to give him time to cool down. Eventually he came back from the dark side and worked out a deal with me to let him swing for five minutes and that was kind of cute. Our boy went through just about every emotion today. He laughed, he cried, he was silly and he was angry. This was the first time I've seen all of these emotions in one day and I'm sure that puberty has a lot to do with it. It isn't always easy raising an autistic child and most of the time we don't know what the heck were doing but God is guiding us and many of our Facebook friends inspire us to be the best parents that we can be for our precious little buddy.
