Master BRX PLC memory configuration and addressing systems! Stop struggling with data types - finally understand custom memory blocks and casting in Do-More. We will look at numbering systems in our BRX Do-More controller. This will include physical IO, casting, and indirect addressing. The BRX PLC, like all of the PLCs in the Do-More Series, uses strong data typing. This means there are fixed memory structures within your program. Errors will be displayed if you try to put the wrong type of value in the memory location. The data structures will automatically assist you in your automation system. Memory can now be as flexible as you want and need. You can define and allocate all the data memory however you want, up to specific maximums. As a system integrator, you determine what best fits your automation framework. We will be looking at the addressing and numbering systems in the BRX Series PLC. Let's get started. 📖 FULL WRITTEN TUTORIAL + DOWNLOADS https://accautomation.ca/brx-plc-numbering-systems-and-addressing ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 - Introduction - Connecting to BRX PLC 0:28 - Dashboard Overview & IO Mapping 1:31 - Analog Input/Output Configuration 2:02 - Data View - Real-time Memory Monitoring 2:37 - Testing Outputs in Run Mode 3:39 - Element Browser & Memory Types 4:41 - Data Type Casting with ShowCast Builder 6:00 - Memory Configuration Menu Access 6:28 - Editing RC Memory Block Size 7:30 - Creating Custom DM Memory Block 8:32 - Wrap Up & Resources 📚 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN ✅ Navigate BRX PLC dashboard and automatic IO addressing system ✅ Use Data View for real-time memory monitoring and output testing ✅ Configure memory block sizes and retentive settings ✅ Create custom memory blocks with user-defined addressing ✅ Apply data type casting to access individual bits within words 🔗 MORE RESOURCES ▶ Series: https://accautomation.ca/series/brx-do-more-plc/ ▶ PLC Beginners Guide: https://accautomation.ca/programming/plc-beginners-guide/ ▶ Free eBooks: https://accautomation.ca (subscribe for download) 🛒 RECOMMENDED HARDWARE ▶ Training Kits: https://accautomation.ca/series/brx-do-more-plc/ 💬 Questions? Here are just a few. - Standalone PLC with built-in I/O - Built-in Data Logging - Communication ability - Ethernet Port, RS232, RS485, USB - support for protocols such as Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, ASCII, K-sequence (DirectLOGIC users), Custom Protocols (ASCII over serial, TCP or UDP over Ethernet) - Built-in Analog input and output - Integrated motion control - High-speed counters - Powerful instruction set (Video of Instructions in software) - Ability to expand the system with a variety of modules - Part of the Do-More series of PLCs, which use the same free software. (Do-More Designer) - Integrated a simulator in the software capable of external communications for testing The BRX series of programmable logic controllers comprises four units. They differ depending on the unit's Inputs and Outputs and whether it has an Ethernet port. No I/O Micro PLC unit – (BX ME) 10 Point Micro PLC unit – (BX 10/10E) 18 Point Micro PLC unit - (BX 18/18E) 36 Point Micro PLC unit - (BX 36/36E) These CPUs (Central Processing Units) are also known as MPUs (Multi-Processing Units) due to their communication capabilities.
