A major fire broke out at an apartment/condominium complex located at 4502 Gaston Ave, in the Old East Dallas area. 
• The first 911 call was at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Saturday. 
• When the fire crews arrived, flames were visible coming from a third-floor balcony and had already spread rapidly to the roof. 
• It was declared a two-alarm fire, requiring a large firefighting response (around 45-50 firefighters) and the blaze was extinguished by about 3:56 p.m. 
• Two firefighters were hospitalized with minor injuries. No residents were reported severely injured. 
• The cause of the fire is still under investigation. 
• Many top-floor units sustained significant damage and the agency American Red Cross stepped in to assist displaced residents.
