THIS IS THE SECOND PART OF A THREE PART SERIES. DON’T BE INTIMIDATED BY THE LENGTH OF THIS VIDEO! You will skip over much of it because it covers installing software on three different operating systems: Windows, macOS, and Linux. Also, a large portion of the video explains how the program works in detail, and you can use your speedometer without knowing – or caring – how the program works. YOU PROBABLY NOTICED that Arduino was asking for a donation when we downloaded the software. I use the Arduino software a *lot* so I usually donate about $25 a year to support their efforts. A casual user might choose to donate, say, $5 or $10 on a one-time basis. Your donation is entirely voluntary, and the software provides full functionality regardless of any donation. REGARDING THE VERSIONS OF SPEEDOMETER There are two versions of Speedometer on my GitHub page - they are: (1) Version 1, which is the version I go through line by line in the video; and (2) Version 2, which has been modified to work with the standalone speedometer I will demonstrate in Part 3. You may download either or both at your convenience. *There* *is* *an* *ERROR* *in* *the* *posted* *code!* An alert viewer noted that the correct proportion for OO gauge is 76, not 96 as shown in the code listing. Apologies to you OO gaugers out there! *One* *viewer* *commented* that I never explained how to see the serial output - my bad! After you have connected the USB cable to the speedometer, you need to open the Arduino IDE and click the serial monitor link to open it. That link is in the upper right corner of the window (just below the close window icon) and it looks like a magnifying glass hovering over a line of four dots, Sorry!
