BUILD A SWINGING BRIDGE

How to build a swinging bridge. This project built a 40' cable rope swinging bridge between two trees over water. The two cypress trees (one on each end were used as anchor points). Only bridge built this way that I have seen. Building step by step process is shown. The project uses 5/16'' steel cable and rope and 1" boards. The bridge is also like a suspension bridge. How to fasten and clamp the steel cable and use of turnbuckles is shown. Steel cable is cut with angle grinder. Tree house or tree deck is also shown. Bayou Dad's chicken side is revealed. The bridge platform uses minimum amount of wood. Uses mostly 1" x 6" true thickness wood. Warning. Build at your own risk and the risk of your own children. This DIY, backyard swinging bridge is very exciting and fun to cross. The Kids were scared but loved it. It is an adventure. Use good rope that the sun won’t deteriorate. Had to replace rope I used on this one. Has held up well over years now. Three large men have crossed it together.
