Hello and welcome back to Makersplace! Think back to a time before smartphones and Spotify. If you wanted to listen to music on the go, you couldn't just carry a giant record player around! That’s when a device called the Walkman changed everything. It was a portable player that allowed people, for the very first time, to carry their music with them and listen through headphones while on the move. At Makersplace, we decided to take that classic concept and build it ourselves using Physical Computing. In this video. 🚀 What’s Inside This Project? The Intro & Unboxing: Exploring the sensors and actuators inside our Physical Computing Kit. Component Deep-Dive: Meet the Microcontroller, Soundcard, and OLED display. Pro-Tip on Coding: Why renaming your songs as 1, 2, 3, and 4 makes your logic work perfectly! Hardware Assembly: Step-by-step wiring using Port B and Port D. The Plode App: Creating a continuous music loop and track display. 🛠️ Components We Used: Microcontroller: The "Brain" of our Walkman. Soundcard: To read and play our MP3 files. OLED Display: To show us the Song Name and Singer info. Speaker: For high-quality audio output. Connectors & Wires: To tie our hardware and software together.
