A drum carder is something you would use to turn raw wool into wool that is ready to be spun. As my partner is into spinning and keeps eye balling the sheep in the country side, I decided to have a go at making one (since the price tag is around 400 Euro's!) So I got some building plans (just to get an idea how they work) and set off to make my prototype drum carder. Nothing fancy and mostly using stuff lying around the garage. I did run into a few problems but had some creative solutions for them. It does end with a working drum carder and a happy wife :)
