In this video I demo how I burnish a pot for Raku firing.
I put a very light coating of canola oil spray on the surface of a bone dry put and polish the surface with a plastic spoon or piece of polished glass.
While metal spoons work well to polish, I have had marks form the metallic oxides that transferred to the pot while burnishing.
