Butterbox (or Mt Hay) canyon is a spectacular canyon on the south Gross Valley in the Blue Mountains. The main drop of 40m is done in two stages, re-belaying off a chockstone, then down a waterfall. The exit requires some low grade climbing back to the top of the escarpment.
