Button Up Your Overcoat, animated

In 2003, in the Young Animators classes at the Creative Arts at Park School Summer Program in Brookline, Massachusetts, eight students, aged 12--15, created this jaunty, hand-animated response to the Peter Nero Trio's classic performance of "Button Up Your Overcoat," from the RCA Album "Peter Nero In Person", ©1963 by RCA Victor. (Please note: this music is used for inspirational and educational purposes only!) Over the course of four weeks, we designed the visuals, working entirely from flipbooks, streaming 10 drawings for every second of screen time. The Young Animators classes are an early version of the LineStorm Animation classes which Harvard University's Project Zero calls "The best example of project-based learning we've ever seen."
