'By Leaves We Live', directed by Culture Collective Gorbals Lead Artist Basharat Khan and made in collaboration with Support Artist Stella Rooney and local children at St Francis and Blackfriars Primary Schools. The short film draws on a COP26 theme, asking people to explore through film how climate change is affecting us as individuals, our surroundings, families, and communities. The film was recently awarded 'Best Environmental Message' by Film Access Scotland as part of their Climate Challenge: 1.5 Degrees Films at Glasgow Film Theatre. The judges said they 'liked the environmental message and collaborative approach applied to the film’. Part of a showcase of four short films produced in the community of the Gorbals with Lead Artist Bash Khan and Support Artist Stella Rooney during their yearlong Culture Collective residencies with Street Level.
