In 1992 my mechanic and I converted a 1956 182 from tricycle to conventional gear using the Wayne Baer STC. Please forgive the narration and lack of editing as I am neither. If I did it again, which I advise against, I would remove the wings and replace the entire doorskin rather than splice them as shown. The STC specified splicing. For those who think the 182 was a 180 with the gear moved I can tell you that is not true. Multiple stringers and skin changes. The gear castings are not in the airplane.
