Cadence Roots

In this video I’m focusing on one specific sound color and character on my drum kit, using a different full setup of @EvansDrumheadsOfficial, exploring zouk rhythms from Guadeloupe and Martinique. On the bass drum, I’m using an Evans EMAD UV Bass Drumhead 20 Inch, which delivers a powerful, punchy low end with great projection and controlled sustain. The EMAD system allows me to shape the attack and focus of the kick, while the UV coating provides extra durability and consistency over time. On the snare, I’m playing an Evans UV2 Coated Snare Batter 14 Inch, a two-ply head that offers a strong, defined attack, balanced sustain and exceptional durability, keeping the sound consistent even with heavy playing. On the toms. I’m using the Evans EC2S Tom Pack Coated Fusion (10”, 12”, 14”), designed with Sound Shaping Technology to control sustain and overtones, delivering a focused, balanced tone and easy, reliable tuning across the kit. Together, these drumheads create a powerful, focused and modern sound color, with strong low end, controlled sustain and clear definition on every drum—ideal for both live performance and studio situations.
