I managed to get the bunk beds roughed in and all the dimensions lined up really well. I was a bit unsure about how well the support system would work and wondered if I would need to build that out a bit more but everything seems really stable and it's not even secured in yet.
I made a mistake with the lower bunk with creating ventilation slots. I cut them too large and caused the lower bunk support to flex more than I wanted so I changed tactics halfway through. Even though there is a bit more flex to the board there is a planned support that fixes the problem so it worked out. I'm just glad I realized my mistake sooner rather than later. The board looks a little strange but it will be covered by the mattress so it will basically never be seen.
Next up is to get on to priming all the boards and building the upper cabinets!
