I decided to try forging my very first steak flipper… and honestly, I wasn’t sure how this would turn out.
With warmer weather coming up and grilling season right around the corner, this felt like the perfect beginner blacksmithing project. Simple in theory—but definitely a learning experience.
In this video, I walk through the full process:
• Heating and shaping the steel
• Learning (and fixing) beginner mistakes
• Trying to get a clean, functional design
This is part of my journey getting into blacksmithing from scratch, so if you're new too, you're in the right place.
If you enjoy beginner builds, forging projects, or DIY metalwork—stick around. Plenty more coming.
