In this video we prove capacitors let through Alternating currents which are sine waves.
We prove this by watching a Resistor Capacitor low pass filter in action on the oscilloscope. We explain the formula for impedance with single resistor and capacitor circuit.
We also derive the formula for the cut off frequency for low pass filters and explain why we see phase shifts in output signals and why the output signal amplitude at cut off is 70% of the input signal.
