Capillary Action was an experimental math/noise/jazz rock band formed in 2004. Members included Jonathan Pfeffer on guitar, bass, and drums, Sam Krulewitch on keyboards. Spencer Russell, Ricardo Lagomasino, and several other members joined the band for later records and live performances. As First Avenue puts it, "Capillary Action’s music is typified by its frenetic pace, dense harmonies, broad dynamics, elastic rhythmic interplay, and confessional tone."
I saw Capillary Action perform sometime in late 2005/early 2006 at the Tampa Bay Skatepark and bought copies of their first two releases, Fragments and Cannibal Impulses, which are now out of print.
Fragments was released in 2005 by Pangaea and even got a 7.5 (!) on Pitchfork (haha). Capillary Action still has two later releases available on Bandcamp, so consider hopping over and supporting the band through the link below. Enjoy!
