Capstan Flake Blue

My written review: Capstan Blue is a very typical looking Navy Cut of uniform Flakes. Upon opening the tin I am pleasantly greeted with a sweet aroma, and notes of hay, baked bread, a little citrus, and a deepfruit smell that was very pleasing. The flake broke apart very easy and packed well. It also took to flame very well. The first thing I noticed was the very sweet hay taste. It has a natural sweetness found in good quality Virginia. The baked bread note comes through well in the flavor profile, and this is supported by a semi floral honey note. The honey is brighter than typical honey, and with the touch of floral puts me in the mindset of honeysuckles. This blend has deep fruit flavors that are in every puff. In the background is some grass and citrus if you look. This blend smokes well fresh out of the tin, but I am sure it would continue to age very well if desired. Capstan Blue did not sport any rough edges or leave any tongue bite. It does burn a little hot if you aren’t mindful of your cadence. It smokes slowly down to a very clean and dry ash and required and average number of relights.
