So here the story of the inner safe we opened today. Yesterday I went there all Cocky high and mighty because it's is direct entry. Easy peasy. Well I got my ass handed to me. I did the usual scanning of the drive wheel to get the real gate.. That's the first wall we hit. NO friction on any of the false gates.. The false gates were all cut deeper than the wheelpack. I said that's no problem, I just check for the width. Um, they are all cut the exact same width.. No problem I'll figure out the real gate later. Let's scan these wheels to find the gate on one of them. Um.. AWL and AWR both had no deviation even with the laser 6 feet away. That was the best I could do because the safe was in a closet and I had no equipment to move it. It's 12x12 inches and it weights 250+lbs. I spent as much time as I could before I had to leave for work (I had a day job and this is just a hobby for me). I left for the day and formulated a plan for today. I brought a dolly to lift the safe up on to so I could take it out of the closet and shoot the laser further. That was a task in it own right. All I could do was tilt it up and slide the dolly under it and then wrestle it on the rest of the way. I managed to wheel the safe somewhere to get get 13 feet of space. I won't talk about manipulation details other than that 13 feet yielded only 1 inch of laser travel from Baseline to opening. You can see from the pictures how evenly matched the wheel pack is and how nicely cut those false gates are . There's only one gate that looks like it's had a rough life. After having everything setup properly it still took 75 minutes. I now see why these are drilled sometimes. It's definitely not recommended manipulation for beginners.
