CAS 2025 Mouseion
For the last 10 years I have produced custom sales awards for a company based in Ohio. Here is this years award. It is called Mouseion. This is part of the description that went with it. Since the dawn of civilization, humanity has been defined by its refusal to let a discovery fade into the past. The Mouseion of Alexandria—the "Home of the Muses"—was our first true attempt to map the landscape of human thought. It was a centralized hub where the world’s wisdom was distilled, preserved, and shared. Throughout history, this impulse has lived on in great scientific repositories, from the Royal Society’s first journals to the Beilstein and Gmelin databases. Each was a precursor to the mission of CAS: a testament to the belief that modern breakthroughs are only possible when we stand on the shoulders of the data that came before us. The Hexagon is at the heart of this award. In the natural world, the hexagon is the "shape of efficiency." From the honeycombs of the hive to the molecular structure of the benzene ring, it is the geometry nature chooses when it must fill a space with the greatest strength and the least waste. In science, the hexagon represents stability and connection. By using this form, we recognize that innovation is not just about raw data—it is about the elegant, stable structures we build to make that data useful.
