Casey Garbage

Around the end of July last year the new Cleanaway Casey contract kicked off putting to work 40+ new trucks. For the first time in a long time they went to back to Volvo and Bucher for the new trucks using the latest Gen6 Bucher Side Arm on a Volvo FE 280 cab chassis. A big change from the typical Dennis Eagle Superior Pak stuff they had been using for a long period of time. I finally said to myself that I would head out to Casey to capture at least one of the new trucks so I can put up for everyone to see and I managed to find this Garbage truck working around Clyde North in a new estate just after 11:30am on a Friday. I have noticed with these new Cleanaway Gen6 trucks the arms have been set up differently compared to the other Gen6 trucks I have seen. They are running a different system I have been told and you will probably notice the rubber buffer piece that is screwed on to the hopper wall to avoid the arm hitting the hopper wall. Other Gen6's I have seen are more set up differently and operate more like a GenV and don't have the rubber piece on the hopper wall. In the last few months I have driven some Gen6's which have been set up correctly and operate like a GenV, smooth and efficient. Bucher is still trying to improve the Gen6 system and I have seen that the new Cleanaway Randwick trucks go a lot more better than these Casey, Cardinia and Wyndham ones. The arms on these Casey ones were terribly slow on their first few weeks and then were sped up to get stuff off the road quicker as they were having some late days out there but you will always get that in a new contract. Unfortunately JJ Richards didn't make it for another round in Casey ending their run in Casey and I'm sure they would of been spewing as Casey is a very big contract and a council that is growing rapidly.
