Part of a series on preparing Google Forms survey data for analysis in Jamovi, and the follow-up to the subscale means video. This video walks through how to use nested IF statements in Google Sheets to create a categorical variable from subscale means, using the Adult Attachment Scale (Collins & Read, 1990) as an example. When you are done cleaning your data, download your Google Sheet to a .CSV by going to File -- Download -- Comma Separated Values (.csv). DO NOT USE EXCEL. Then open your .CSV file in jamovi: https://youtu.be/putvHX5HGmw. You will create total scores in jamovi, unless you are categorizing data with subscale means and IF statements.
