The plaintiff says he is having trouble getting his security deposit back from the defendant, his landlord, so he is suing for its return. He also claims the defendant took his cat and refuses to give it back. The defendants say the plaintiff abandoned the cat for three weeks, left belongings behind and damaged the floors. They argue they have the right to keep the security deposit and are countersuing for additional damages.
