Here, we use the no-data setup from our previous video, and do a full 'design-build' of a constellation ceiling for a child's room! This can be scaled up to any ceiling design you would want to implement in a project, floor or ceiling. The workflow will use only SketchUp and a Trimble Robotic Total Station with FieldLink. Here's the workflow breakdown: 1) Use FieldLink/ RTS to get your existing room measurements. You can use the corners as control, or shoot in targets/ other control on your project. 2) Export a .dwg or .skp from FieldLink, and import into SketchUp. 3) Import the image file you want to use for design into SketchUp, and scale/ move it to match your room dimensions. 4) Trace the design on the image to create your model for layout. 5) Use the Trimble FieldPoints SketchUp extension to create your layout points. (These can be put in components and copied for larger models). 6) Export the layout points to FieldLink, and place your design!
