Cessnock Rural Garbage
Cessnock's infamous Wollombi run is something I have always wanted to document here on YouTube and just yesterday I finally got the chance to get down to Wollombi to shoot this video. Cessnock's Friday zone covers majority of the councils rural localities and dense bush runs. This particular route starts in Millfield where it then runs down Wollombi Rd, through Wollombi and south to the tiny town of Laguna, which includes all the small dirt lanes that branch off from the main highway, before the truck heads back north into Millfield where it services the outskirts of the town. The route covers over 110km's of ground while the truck only services around 500 bins. What strikes my interest about this particular bush run is how it is adjancent to the Watagans National Park, so it made for some great shots showcasing the dense bushland and forest in the background. I should also point out that a lot of the lineups are bins that belong to numerous properties and are usually situated at that top of smaller lanes/shared driveways meaning residents are required to drop their bins off at these points to avoid having the truck drive down every single one of those dirt lanes. To top it all of we had unit 38 in charge of collections that day which sports and insane sounding engine and competent operator. Behind the wheel is @Ivecofan21 once again (hes gonna start wanting royalties on these videos pretty soon). So a big thanks goes to him for helping me shoot this video, particularly when the car would have to pull a dodgy overtake on a narrow dirt road ;) Finally, enjoy this lenghty video. I wouldn't usually post something that is almost 20 minutes long but there was too much to include. I reckon this video has to be up there with one of my best videos to date. It was definetly one of my favourites to shoot 👌
