Changing a Gyroc Model B Motor

Recently the manufacturer of the Gyroc vibratory tumblers (TAGIT) changed the 220 Volt motor on the Model B. Unfortunately, the new motor is unsuitable for the Australian power supply and overheats - it will not work for more than 10 minutes at a time and so this version of the Model B is now unable to be used in Australia. This video runs through the process of fitting an alternative motor which resolves the issue. Although we alerted TAGIT to this problem some 6 months ago, it appears they are still selling this version through their USA dealers. Most Australian dealers who have been caught with these problem tumblers have withdrawn them from sale at their own cost. However, at least some American dealers are still selling these with no regard to these reported faults. If you have been unlucky enough to be supplied one of these problem tumblers, in the first instance, you should contact your supplier for a suitable replacement or refund. Unfortunately, we are hearing that some who have purchased direct from the USA are not being provided with any warranty support and are basically being left in the lurch. In this case, you still have the option of purchasing a motor from Aussie Sapphire that will run the tumbler properly on our power supply. If you are considering buying a tumbler from an overseas supplier that appears to be cheaper, we strongly recommend that you ensure the motor is correct BEFORE purchasing. This video covers some of these issues. NOTE: this applies to the Model B ONLY at this stage. The Model A is still ok for now. Cheers from Aussie Sapphire
